Make Your Mark Art Studio is a place where children and adults can explore their creativity in a safe, nonjudgmental environment, while having fun and spending time with other artists of the same age. As a certified art educator, I will help you create works of art step by step.
In our fast paced world, it is more important than ever to make connections through human interaction and creative expression. Making things with your hands gives you a sense of satisfaction and pride. Creating helps you focus your mind and can put you in a meditative state. Make Your Mark is a place where both children and adults can let life slow down for just a bit and give their mind a rest from the every day hustle and bustle of life.
I am a mother, wife, and teacher. I have two children ages 7 and 10, and I currently teach art to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade at Southern Columbia Area School District. I have a Bachelor's degree in art education from West Virginia University, and a Masters in Education from the University of Pittsburgh.
I have been teaching art in public schools for 17 years, the past 12 years in the local area and 5 years in Pittsburgh. I love showing people how to make things with their hands and I believe that we need to nurture our soul by reconnecting with ourselves and each other.
I'm looking forward to making things together at Make Your Mark~
Make Your Mark is located on East Roosvelt St. near the Elysburg post office. It is also near Little Britches Daycare and Roadarmel's Chicken. It is approximately 5 minutes away from Knoebel's and only one block from the main intersection near Sheetz, Turkey Hill and OIP. Once you have approached the main intersection head towards Knoebel's and make the first left turn onto Hickory Street. (If you pass Knoebel's on your way to Elysburg, make the last right before the light at the main intersection onto Hickory Street) Make the next left onto East Roosevelt. Make Your Mark is the first business on the end with 2 red benches and a flag out front.
*Note - if you use a GPS it may take you to West Roosevelt, instead of East. You will not find me there.
